What's New at the GCAC

Tunes in the Park rescheduled

Rock and Roll Reunion is rescheduled for Sept 19, 2014 in the City of Greer amphitheatre. They will be performing from 7-8pm and 9-10pm.

We will be holding our first ever Greer Idol Reunion during intermission.




Greer Idol Reunion

Attention All Former Greer Idol/ Greer Idol Teen Participants!

            The Greer Cultural Arts Council invites all Former Greer Idol Contestants for a reunion concert on September 19, 2014! Greer Idol Teens and Greer Idols are welcome! This Idol Reunion concert will take place in the City of Greer Amphitheatre. Any genre of music is acceptable. Greer Idol Teen participants will perform from 6:00p.m. - 7:00p.m. and Greer Idols will perform from 8:00p.m. - 9:00p.m. Please contact Robin Byouk by Sept 1, 2014 at if you would like to perform. We look forward to hearing all of our contestants again!

Foothills Philharmonic begins its 14th concert season, Symphonies, on Saturday, September 13th with the seasons first Masterworks ConcertFoothills Philharmonic's full symphony ensemble will present famous works by Beethoven, Rossini, and Strauss. Highlights include Beethoven's Symphony #6 and Rossini's Overture to the Barber of Seville.

The 2014-2015 season features an exciting repertoire showcasing international masterpieces that will transport our audience across the globe and beyond.  Season 14 will explore everything from classical and popular favorites to more intimate chamber music, and probably a few selections you?ll hear for the first time.
Performing in Greenville since 2000, Foothills Philharmonic is committed to providing high-quality, classical music performances to the Upstate community free of charge.  Each concert is followed by a complimentary reception that allows patrons to meet our musicians and artistic director.

  This year?s juror is Georgia Harrison, a local painter and retired art teacher who currently teaches painting for the OLLI program at Furman University.


The competition is opened to the general public regardless of age.


 Art is to be of Lake Robinson environs and must be original art.


All entries must be submitted via .jpg file no later than September 13, 2014.




Selected art will be displayed at

Lake Robinson Day of Celebration

 to be held October 12, 2014

at the Verne Smith Park.

GCAC is looking for students in the 9th-12th grades who would like to make a contribution to the Greer Cultural Arts Council.

GCAC is gladly accepting used dance shoes and dance costumes. We will repurpose them or give them to someone to use.

We are also in need of working power tools and handheld tools (to be used in the construction of sets) such as:

drills, saws, hammers, screwdrivers etc
